A child is not a small adult

SOSTRIAGE™ by CAREPOI® uses a child’s own warning signs: how they look, how hard they are working to breathe, their colour, and fever in a very young infant. An adult early-warning chart is not used under 16. A parent is not asked to perform a hospital test on the phone.

A sick child

Looks, work of breathing, colour, and fever. Under three months, fever itself is urgent. Yes, or “I don’t know”, on those questions raises the pace. The caller stays with the child. They are not sent out of the room to fetch equipment while the child is in difficulty.

Pregnancy

A concern in pregnancy that is not birth this minute. Bleeding, pain, and how the baby is moving. The pace can rise. Home is not an automatic answer.

Birth now

Labour or birth now opens at emergency pace. A person is connected at once. The signature on that contact is meant for a midwife or a clinician. The guide does not coach a birth as if it were an ordinary symptom list.

For a health plan or a hospital

Parents call in the language they chose. The same meaning is kept in Norwegian, English, and Greek. The clinician sees that this was a child path, not an adult chart, and signs the outcome in their own name.
